Kibera slums of Kenya by Mary Jean Baxley
The children who live in the slums of Kibera need food, clean water, safety from rape, abuse and disease. They need an education and most of all, they need to just be children. I went as a journalist to help deliver medical supplies and write about the children. Please go to http://www.mymissionfulfilled.com/articleasp?id=1860 and read my short article. It has appeared in January 2010 Christian Voice magazine and on SC Press Association web site December 2009.
I also wrote a 2009 Horizons magazine article called The Face of the Enemy--it is about violence to women and girls in Sudan. I volunteer with refugees from Burma. Mary Jean Baxley Columbia SC mjgkb@aol.com
