This iReport is part of an assignment:
Graduates looking for work |
Must we all have "white collar" jobs?!
It seems like almost everyone wants to get a university degree, a masters and get a well paying job!...mostly in finance and I.T given the recession and the digital era!! Being a student with the same aim makes me feel insecure about my future as an employee. We have thousands of graduates per year who fight for positions with the existing employees of any organisation. Chances of getting employed after graduation continue to be slim as the number of graduates increase tremendously regardless of the situation in hand. Could it be possible that a number of academically qualified professionals are hanging out there jobless while unacademically qualified guys with lots of experience hold on to good jobs. One requirement in any job opening i've noticed is this animal called "experience"! Most ask for five years experience which is not just an added advantage but a requirement for this job!! What is a graduand with no experience expected to get it if he/she just came out of campus! Could it mean that we venture in small scale business investments or what! We need some answers around here but who's gonna give them to us!!
