Sound-off |
Sen Dick Durban's Attack On Poor School Children
Senator Dick Durbin, D-ILL, whose children attend private school, took that opportunity away from children in Washington DC by slipping an amendment into a $410 billion omnibus spending bill that ends a school voucher program allowing poor children in DC to attend much better private schools.
The amendment infuriated parents who say the vouchers have raised performance and rescued students from one the country's worst public school systems.
This is yet another example of how liberal politicians are more interested into holding onto power, control of the public school system, rather than doing what's best for the citizens that voted them into office. Here is a program that resulted in better testing scores and success for children in the DC area, but rather than looking into extending this program to other areas to help education in the United States the liberals are more determined to maintain their bureaucratic control over people so they can hold onto their jobs and power.
VOTE DICK DURBAN OUT OF OFFICE!
