    Not in New York City - Skiing Near Detroit

    Just a few moments from Detroit, it's quite easy to go x-country skiing at Maybury State Park.  Southeastern Michigan certainly doesn't get the amount of snow that the Upper Peninsula gets, but when snow hits, Maybury is a short hop for those in the Detroit area.  After a nice winter storm came through a few days earlier, it was an ideal day to enjoy the groomed trails.  Note -- we took the groomed trails, but we also had a lot of fun blazing along the mountain bike trails.

     

    NY Times... how long does it take to escape the concrete jungle, congested traffic and ski?  Only in NYC.
