    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     WesAllmond told me, 'I was hoping to capture the Mississippi frozen over solid since we had a low of 0° F the night before. The scene was very cold, foggy, and quiet since it was still around 5° F that morning.'

    The Meremac River in Fenton, MO (a St. Louis suburb) was the only river to completely freeze over the St. Louis Metro area. This photo taken from the west bank of the Meremac River, the morning after the Saint Louis area experienced a record low of 0° F.
