    Mississippi River / Downtown St. Louis

    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     WesAllmond told me, 'I was hoping to capture the Mississippi frozen over solid since we had a low of 0° F the night before. The scene was very cold, foggy, and quiet since it was still around 5° F that morning.'

    The Mississippi River, the morning after the Saint Louis area experienced a record low of 0° F. These three photos were taken just below the Poplar Street Bridge on the west bank of the Mississippi River in downtown Saint Louis, MO.

     

    I was hoping for a complete freeze over, but still got a few nice images.
