Help Clean up SL's image: Play Ballocki!

Dude Gilruth would like to be part of the move to clean up the image of Second Life. That is part of the reason he created the game of Ballocki. "I want people to know, you can use SL for more than just naked avatars and porn, and the things that it gets a bad rap for." The game has been described as part soccer, part billiards and part tetris. It can be played by 1 or multiple players and/or teams of players. The goal of the game is to kick and push the Balls and Blocks into the goals that match their colors. The Game Floor consists of a large open area with 6 different colored goals.  Each Ball and Block is colored to match one of the 6 goals. Players are also allowed (and encouraged) to strategically try to kick and move their opponent's Blocks and Balls off the edges of the game floor or into goals that do not match in color.  With different scoring for different shapes and goals, offense and defense strategies come into play to make it fun, interesting and addicting. The balls count less than the blocks, and the corner goals count more than the 2 side goals.

Game Creator, Dude Gilruth is tentatively scheduled to appear on 'Tonight Live with Paisley Beebe' on SLCN in the next few weeks. He says, "I had seen a lot of SL and there is a lot here, but in a sense, a lot is missing too. There are clubs, stores, places that are supposed to look like a real city or landmark, and there are games too, but they are not easy to play, and not fun mostly. I wanted to make something that would be new, not a replica of RL soccer or RL basketball or something. Ballocki is not simple to be good at it, but simple to play."

The game has 157 prims and is available for sale for a bargain $L300, from a sign over the end of the court, that says 'game system' It is for sale on the website shop.onrez.com as well.

KathleenK Spitteler, "I started playing two days ago and what I like about it is,  it's good clean fun." Candi Hamer, "Watch out for the goal boxes, like a black hole when u fall in!" KathleenK "It's how fast you can get out of them...that counts!"

The game as been available since Mid May and it took Dude a couple months to make it. It is a ten minute game and is offered free most evenings (US time) on the Rutger's university sim. Search for the group BCL or visit http://slurl.com/secondlife/RUCE%203/145/129/29.  League play is forming soon. Stop by and start practicing now!
