Haiti earthquake aftermath |
URGENT: FULL-SERVICE HOSPITAL OPEN IN MILOT
URGENT: We have a full-service hospital in Milot, Haiti that is *not* being utilized!! Hopital Sacre Coeur (Sacred Heart Hospital) is full-service hospital, fully staffed, volunteer teams both on site and standing by, ready to go. We can take up to *200 injured patients* immediately! We have operating rooms and beds. We have discharged other patients whose condition is less serious. We have cleared a soccer field for helicopter landing. We have cleared out a school across the street and additional hospital beds are on the way. We are preparing shelters. We cannot understand why our facility is not being utilized! As of yesterday, we have received only two (2) patients that came by car. It doesn't make any sense why we are not being used.
Please get the word out to news organizations to get rescue teams to either caravan people or chopper them over. It makes no sense to be 25 minutes away by chopper with beds and doctors waiting to help!
Anyone who needs additional information is welcome to contact me.
