    Shock Jocking!

For the love of god people, drop it already.  Who cares what some two-bit radio host says on a show that most people hadn't heard of until his infamous comments last year.

The point is that the guy probably isn't racist, he just made a comment that some people found inappropriate.

We're caught up in a politically correct world where people can be scrutinized for saying anything, PERIOD.

I'm an amateur stand up comedian and I've dealt first hand with people being offended at jokes that I tell.  Sometimes I piss black audience members off, sometimes the very same joke will make black audience members laugh.  It's all pretty much a crap shoot, but I'm sure that some would say I'm a racist (maybe just for referring to black people as black instead of "african american").

Right now I do some comedy at a local club where there is a group that performs spoken word before the comedy club starts.  The spoken word group is mostly made up of black performers.  Sometimes I'll arrive during their shows and get a chance to listen.  The last show I heard a black performer talking about how terrible white people were.  When he finished his incidiary poetry everyone was clapping, had I gotten on stage and said anything about black people, chances are I would have been considered a racist.

I feel that in the grand scheme of things there are actually racist people in our country, racism does still exist, so why go after someone like Don Imus?
