"Pants on the ground"
On Friday January 15th, 2010 I was given the opportunity of a lifetime to spend over 4 hours with a man who had become the buzz all over America over night.
At the age of 62, General Larry Platt made his first appearance on American Idol on January 13th, 2010 singing his song, "Pants on the ground" which instantly became a hit.
After hours with General Larry, his personality really shined through. His message was simple he said, “I am going to keep those pants up”. He was tired of the youth in America wearing their pants low so their backside showed. He spoke to me about wanting young kids to show respect to the elderly and how he hopes his song will convey his message all over America.
With the amount of time I spent with General Larry, I noticed how kind he was. He offered me half of his breakfast and opened doors for me several times. I think that was the most I laughed in a very long time!
I truly hope he is able to convey his message of peace and respect!
