Strong storms hit California |
California Storms Excite Skiers, Lessen Drought
It's the "The Good Side" of the El Nino Storms that pounded So Cal last week, as both skiers and snowboarders packed Big Bear and the other California Mountain Resorts where up to 5 feet of snow fell. Some drivers told me it took them 4 to 6 hours to get up into the snow areas. Some mountain highways were closed due to slides, this tied up the traffic even more than expected. Its a skier's dream - Fresh Powder!! The video is first, and the photo's are from 2 thru 6.
The California Rain and Snow also put a major dent in our three year drought here. 3 weeks ago, the snow pack was below normal. Now, it's a little above the standard. February is the wettest month in CA, so hopefully this year's storms are a drought buster!
