AIRPORT BODY SCANNERS, WINDOW DRESSING?
Nobody seems to be talking about the fact that the newly proposed "Full Body Scanners" that are going to be installed in our nations Airports would not have stopped the most recent bombing attempt. The scanners are made to detect objects under clothing, particularly metal objects such as guns or knives or metal explosive devices like grenades. However, these are not designed to detect things hidden in body cavities, things that have been swallowed, etc. In addition, they were not designed to detect the kind of explosives that the underwear bomber used.
In short, it seems like window dressing and will not make us any safer.
