Your tips for Small Business Success |
Small Business Success ( TheAutoContact )
SMALL BUSINES BIG IDEA
South Florida inventor Mark Anthony Robinson is feeling the pinch of a slow economy the same as any other fortune 500 company, his solution is the same as many others, double your efforts, get more efficient and continue to refine your product.
Mark Anthony Robinson’s product is a first of its kind active security device for vehicles and equipment “TheAutoContact.” TheAutoContact is a theft prevention device coveted by national security companies, large commercial retailers with inventories vulnerable to theft such as construction and farming equipment, and national chain stores that specialize in do-it-yourself home improvements. TheAutoContact uses a wireless contact to protect any motorized vehicle or piece of equipment placed on the weatherproof contact mat. It works in conjunction with any residential or commercial security system and interfaces with any existing alarm panel and wireless hardware.
Simply put, TheAutoContact houses a sensitive pressure switch (50lbs. - 4,000lbs.) and wireless transmitter in a high strength weatherproof mat that connects the mat to any new or existing security systems. This wireless connectivity makes the mat and anything parked or placed on it part of your active security system.
Mark Anthony Robinson, President of GAR Security Equipment, Inc. (GAR), the inventor and manufacturer of TheAutoContact, developed the innovative security product after losing a classic 1966 Pontiac GTO to car thieves that struck at his home several years ago. “I’ve been in the residential and commercial security system industry for 15 years, if auto thefts can happen to me it can happen to anyone,” explained Mr. Robinson.
The national recession hitting the country has been a doubled edged sword for the success of TheAutoContact; on one hand large retailers are showing more interest in the product to help protect their inventory during a time when the public may be more appt to steal while on the other hand residential customers or smaller business don’t have the extra cash on hand to invest in vehicle protection. “It’s a difficult choice for some people to spend money during times that are tight to deter something that bad that “might” happen, Robinson said, I see it as protecting what is probably your second largest investment.”
TheAutoContact is currently for sale to security contractors and retailers through (ADI) http://www.adilink.com , the nation’s largest distributor of security system hardware products (ADI Part # is GS-AUTOCONT).Residential customers can request it from their current security system monitoring company or place individual orders through MarkAnthony@TheAutoContact.com.
