NW Arkansas Snow Measure - Jan. 30 Morning
When I awoke this morning, I measured 5 and one-half inches close to the house. However, I could see it was even deeper away from the house.
The official snowfall estimate for Rogers was 7 inches. I believe it.
I included a picture of my shortest dog trying to navigate my backyard snow. Even during the ice storm of 2009, the snowfall never got this deep.
Wow! This is almost unheard of in NW Arkansas. I have lived here for 20 years and I have NEVER seen snow this deep in Arkansas.
The local news reported nearly 20,000 people without power in Arkansas, mostly down in the Mississippi Delta region. Up here, we were just fine, thank goodness.
