This iReport is part of an assignment:
Calling all super moms |
Mothers Raising Children Alone
Years ago I was a client of a pregnancy center in Pasadena, Texas. At the time I was homeless and had nowhere to go, as well as no hope. I was either going to try to kill myself or the baby. I found someone who would help me end the pregnancy. When I went to call an abortion clinic, to my amazement I accidentally called and Abortions alternative number. It was a toll free number that went to Wichita Fall, Texas, to a maternity home. It was too far, I would never have a way of getting there. I decided to try the local Pregnancy Center to see if there was a maternity home closer. Peggy Mutton was my caseworker and she helped me looked for one closer but my age was a hindrance as well as the adoption idea. I was going to end the pregnancy.
To make a long story short, Peggy drove me 9 hours to Wichita Fall. I want to say thank you for all that you do and I would hope that you would get my book. I think it will be a great inspiration to someone who may be just like I was. I am now a speaker, as well as an Elementary Behavior Specialist, who will graduate with her Master’s in Education in May. What you do makes a difference. The nationwide release date for my book was January 12.
