Salute to troops |
Love to our trauma doc dad in Haiti!
This Salute is to Capt. Richard Sharpe deployed with the USNS Comfort in Haiti.
While Richie, Josh, your precious-most-gorgeous-lovely-wonderful-one (Lauren), and I miss your presence here at home, we know it is greatly needed in Haiti as you work diligently with the Comfort personnel and the 82nd Airborne ("they rock!" we hear!) to tansport the injured to facilities equipped to teat the trauma they have suffered. It was wonderful to have you home from Afghanistan in time for Christmas! We had just become used to hearing your voice and enjoying your hugs when off you went again!
We are so thankful for a wonderful husband and father who takes such awesome care of us, whether you are here or hundreds of miles away! You have been involved in many missions over the last 22 years, always striving to give your best support to our great country and it's military, and we continue to be so proud of you! Following you from Guam to Cuba, and finally to Portsmouth, VA has not always been easy, but God has always provided special friends, and our New Jersey family has always been a great support! You have made every place we've lived an adventure, always loving and encouraging us. Our hearts follow you now to Haiti, as was so during your middle east tours, with prayers that the needs that you encounter will be within your power to meet head on, and with the energy that you give to all you do. We know also, that the Lord is with you, as he promised.
While this trip is "really messing up your workout schedule", and you would probably love a cup of your favorite coffee, we know you are keeping things in perspective, as you always remind us to do! We miss your sense of humor, and trust there are a few moments when it is giving those around you a needed beak from the intense pressures of this mission. We send all our love to you, and are counting the days till you are home again!!
