Your 'Aha' weight-loss moments |
207 pounds lost
Hello,
I'm attaching a comparison picture from when I was 446 pounds compared to when I was around 255. I'm now down to 239 (a recent picture from last week is also included).
In 2007 I decided that I needed to change my life or I wouldn't live to see 40. I couldn't walk more than a block without getting winded and my life was completely limited because of my weight. One day, I meet up with some friends for dinner and I couldn't fit in the seat.
I started off walking slowly each day and build that up to walking more and more. I cut out the junk food and beer. As I started to lose weight, I was able to increase the distance I walked.
In 2008 and 2009, I continued to walk by doing several charity events such as the Avon 2 day walk for Breast Cancer and the Komen 3 day walk. They marathon or longer walks were a big accomplishment for me.
In late 2009, I took up running and have now done 3 5K races and I plan on doing a 10K race in April.
Matt
