Conservation areas in Dubai
Dubai is a world famous city in the United Arab Emirates known for it’s rapid modernization. But behind the gleaming newness is a lesser known but equally important dedication and commitment to preserving the natural environment. This is evidenced in the two wildlife reserves that have both recently been granted international protected status. I visited the Ras al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary and the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve in January 2009.
