End of an era for computing giant |
I Won the 1985 Science Fair!
My family had a TI-99 hooked up to a black and white TV and a tape deck drive that whistled and beeped like a modem while it transferred data to the CPU. It's the first time I ever heard that sound. As part of my 8th grade science fair project, I helped my dad write a program for the TI-99 that calculated the phases of the moon for 100 earthquakes. (I won 1st place, thanks dad!) My sister and I used to play "Choose Your Own Adventure" type games on it. We also had hours of fun with an arcade game called "Parsec." The TI-99 introduced my family to the computer age.
