This iReport is part of an assignment:
Autism awareness |
Album of autism songs for parents
My response, as a parent of a child on the autism spectrum, was to write an album of songs that tells stories of parents raising children with autism. The album is call What Remains and available at www.autismsongs.com.
It's critical that we as parents tell our stories to help people understand the emotional impact that this has on families. It's not always sorrow, there is also deep understanding and fulfillment that can accompany the diagnosis. To me, it's life in the extreme.
What do you think of this story?
