    Autism awareness

    Handsome

Handsome was diagnosed with autism at the age of two and a half. I knew something was different from birth. Handsome would never look at me in the eyes and never smiled or cooed as a baby. Didn't like being touch a lot and would just stare off and not respond to his name and never talked. One day about two years old Handsome recited an entire t.v. commercial just as clear as if he had been talking this entire time. I took him in to see a speech therapist who stopped the session ten minutes in, after I witnessed his first meltdown because she moved a chair. I was told Handsome had severe autism, he can't communicate , he has echoloia, and OCD. I was told he may never be able to communicate just repeat what he hears. Now at the age of four, Handsome can ask for a drink or snack. Which is a huge step from what I was told two years ago. I do not believe that autism is caused by any immunizations. I believe it is a childhood chronic condition that has become more prominent over the decades. And its just one in so many births. Handsome attends public pre school  tailored toward special needs children and also does ABA therapy and I have seen outstanding improvements in him. He is my special child and everyone loves him. I do however wish there were more recourses regarding autism and not just what may have caused this condition.
