My wife and I had just returned from a cruise to the port at Fort Lauderdale on Saturday February 6th. We were scheduled to fly back to NJ that day but our flight was canceled due to the massive snow storm back home. So it looked like we were going to be "stuck" in 75 degree sunshine for a least a day while NJ was getting hit with two feet of snow.

Luckily we have family in the area. My nephew picked us up at the port and this was the scene at the beach in Fort Lauderdale. Absolute pandemonium, like Times Square on New Years Eve.

I took this photo from the car as we were stopped at a red light. Now I wish I had gotten out and taken some more pictures and perhaps interviewed some of the revelers on video.

However I believe this photo pretty well captures the party atmosphere in South Florida on Super Bowl week end.
