Symptoms, Sadness and Stupor
Briarpatch - Down in Dementialand video diary entry for January 31, 2009.
In first 2 weeks after his release from the hospital BJ was recuperating nicely from his inadvertent methadone overdose, renal failure and septicemia. Then last week he came down with yet another urinary tract infection and spent 36 hours in a morphine stupor due to another prescribing error. He was also administered the "Mini Mental State Exam" to baseline his dementia. The results were shocking and bummed me out, but then spied a few "first signs of spring" out in the yard and I'm feeling better!
