This iReport is part of an assignment:
Larry King Live: Your questions |
Jack LaLanne Day
A new effort is underway to declare Jack LaLanne's birthday as a day devoted to personal health commitment (Sep 26th, see http://JLLDay.org ). JLLDay aims to provide a fun and healthy way to get more people, kids and adults alike, to be more active and to eat more healthfully.
Everyone is encouraged to prepare for this day throughout the year and to pick a positive yet challenging goal to improve their fitness or nutrition as a birthday gift for Jack and to demonstrate a commitment to take charge of their own health. Group "feat of strength" activities were organized in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2009 for the first annual Jack LaLanne Day, providing a unique opportunity for health-oriented camaraderie and motivation for a participants. We plan to continue the tradition in 2010 and beyond.
As First Lady, what would you think about promoting JLLDay nationally as part of your drive against childhood obesity? The JLLDay organizers would be very eager to collaborate with you in any way. Thanks for your consideration!
