    Boy Scouts turn 100

    Been awhile

I joined the Cub scout program about twelve years ago, and continued right through to boy scouts where i recieved my Eagle Scout award when i was17. I am now 18. it has been by far one of the best expierences of my life. the places i got to go were because of scouting, i was able to go to Cimmaron, New Mexico and hike through hundreds and hundreds of miles of wilderness with just a backpack and 7 other guys. I was able to go to The National jamboree, where more then 60000 scouts gathered with one common thing, they were all scouts. Throughout my time as a scout I learned things, that without them, it would be a lot less exciting life. I've learned first aid, some I have had to apply and some I have not. I've learned aquatic rescues, I've learned to cook steak on an open fire with no grill. I've also learned, that without the support of family members, its a difficult expierence. Even my father, now 49, was a Boy Scout, he also achieved the Eagle scout award, 34 years ago. My younger brother is right  on my tail, soon to be the newest Eagle scout in my family. As soon as he makes it, My brother, now 16, my father, and I, will take a picture for it to be displayed in the National Eagle Scout Association's magazine.

All in all. its been one great adventure. Just a word of Advice, its more difficult then you would ever believe, if your not having fun.
