Boy Scouts turn 100 |
Scouting: a lifesyle
As a boy I join Cub Scouts and was thrilled to be expossed to a world of out door fun. As I moved on into Boy Scouts the fun in the out doors turned into an education in how to live off the land and be thankful in it's abundance. I eventually ended up in Sea Scouts where a life on the water translated into enlistment in the US Navy.
Now I have 2 sons that are Eagle Scouts and a daughter that can't wait to be a Venturer (coed Scouting). At our house converstions, values, and life decisions are mostly centered around the activities and rewards that Scouting has made available to my family. If we are not Scouting we are getting ready to.
I am proud of my family and all they are - because of the decisions they make daily are driven by Scouting's values.
