This iReport is part of an assignment:
Tea Party movement |
Tea Party and Sarah Palin
- hhanks, CNN iReport producer
I like the Tea party movement, its good that conservatives are coming out with their opinions, and voicing their concerns. For the democrats, and those on the left who think the movement is a disgrace because of the images of people comparing Obama to Hitler, I think have to put into perspective that those on the LEFT often compare Bush to Hitler and figures like that. Its not fair to say that the entire movement is comprised of racist/crazies, the majority of the people in the movement are just genuinely concerned about the direction in which Pres. Obama is bringing the country towards.
As of Sarah Palin, I think she's too much of a polarizing figure. She appeals to only a segment of the population, and is not a uniting figure. Obama may be on the left, but he appeals to a larger audience. Sarah Palin doesn't. I think she needs to re-work her message so that it appeals to a general audience yet also spell out her conservative principles. I think blaming the President for every wrong in America doesn't do much to appeal to voters who are in the middle.
