Beijing's amazing new milliner! (hat maker)
New Beijing-based milliner Elisabeth Koch makes not just your everyday hats, but outrageous head creations for special occasions or the cycle-ride down the street! Having been a headwear fanatic and hat collector since an early age, Elisabeth now tailor-makes hats for everyone. She has already been called "the Philip Treacy of China". She has an atelier on the 36th floor in Central Park (Beijing), where clients are welcome by appointment. There, together with the client, they look at hat shapes and sizes, different combinations, materials, colors, feathers, flowers, ribbons and anything else that can be added to a hat. Her hats are hand made, there is no mass production or factory involved in any way. Three shops currently sell her hats in Beijing - they are listed on her website: www.ElisabethKoch.net where you can check out all of her amazing creations. Elisabeth's hats have been worn at the Ascot horserace's in the UK, as well as in Dubai, USA, Canada, Denmark, China, Austria, Australia, London, Holland and more.
