The Stimulus Package Works in a Different Way

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     Ford3 is a high school teacher with journalistic experience who enjoys telling stories in the community. He said he thinks it's possible that the effects of the stimulus package may go far beyond cost and jobs, to the point that the safety effects of better roads may help. He points to his local area as an example.
    - nsaidi, CNN iReport producer

The yardstick for evaluating whether the Stimulus Package has worked has been based on cost and jobs.  I have a novel idea...what about if the highway project, funded by Stimulus money, improves the chances that motorists will not be killed in a traffic accident.  Or, why can we not ask, "What will be the savings in insurance premiums from damages to vehicles?"  There are many ways to look at everything!
