    Iran Awareness

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     MelissaF told me, 'This was the most effective display I have ever seen on campus for an organization's cause.'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

The Iranian Student Association at California State University Fullerton put on a dramatic display in order to raise awareness on the plight in Iran.  On Tuesday, February 23rd, over 40 posters lined the quad most of them of a graphic nature depicting the protests in Iran.

The posters were made by OC Protests, which is an organization that holds protests "in solidarity with the people of Iran for freedom and democracy since the contested June 2009 elections," according to the Arezo Rashidian, one of the organizers.  They have been protesting since June.

Yari from Tehran and Sepideh from Anaheim Hills, California were very vocal in their opinions when it came to the leader, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

I overheard many students that were in support in their cause and that the posters, even though graphic in nature, were very effective.

OC Protests gather every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 5-7 pm in Irvine, California.
