Toyota doing the right thing? |
Toyota Dealers are as indifferent as the company has been
It's not just a problem at the CEO/Corporate level, the indifference filters down to the local dealers. I am very frustrated with the service I am getting from the Modern Toyota in Winston-Salem, NC. A year and a half ago, we had a heavy limb fall on the cab of our truck. We brought it into the dealer to be repaired and they did not reseal the windshield. Unbeknownst to us, it leaked and filled the fuse box with water, causing approximately $1000 in damage (so far). Then, they broke the windshield in an attempt to reseal it -- they are charging us for that as well. We also had to have the water pump replaced a year ago. They say it needs to be replaced again - at our expense. So again, they refuse to be responsible for failure of their previous work. We will be lucky to get away from this with a working vehicle and a thousand dollars poorer for problems that we never should have had to face. A customer satisfaction manager vowed to try to work it out for us, but despite his seeming to be a decent person, he is not having any success, either. It would appear that Toyota does not stand behind their products nor service anymore, so no sense in paying a premium for either. My confidence in this company and its subsidiaries is severely shaken and I will be hard pressed to pay a higher price for a Toyota when the once vaunted quality appears to be little better than any of the other brands. I just wish they would step up to the plate and take responsibility.
