Family Enters 12th Country After Pedaling 11,000 Miles

The Vogel family entered their twelveth country yesterday - Peru - after having cycled 11,000 miles from Alaska.  They expect to reach the southern tip of South America in about a year.

The family, consisting of parents John and Nancy and twin 12-year-old boys, Davy and Daryl, left Alaska on June 10, 2008.  Since then, they've cycled through Canada, the USA, Mexico, Central America, Colombia, and Ecuador.  When they reach the tip of the world, the boys will have broken the world record as the youngest people to cycle the entire length of the Pan American Highway.

You can read more about their journey at www.familyonbikes.org
