OK, I Guess She's Not That Bad

I was watching Jay Leno last night, on the Tonight Show (where he rightfully belongs), and he had the former Alaska governor Sarah Palin on the show.

From the moment she walked out, I could tell she's changed.  She had her hair up, and she was wearing jeans and a suit jacket, which I have rarely seen her wear, but she pulled it off great.

At first I was skeptical as to how she would do during the interview, as she hasn't done well in interviews before, but Palin actually did pretty OK.  She defended Fox News as being fair and balanced, which I found silly, and so did Jay.  Overall, her interview skills have improved.

As for the comedy, she did really good.  Here are some of her jokes:

"Alaska is so different from Los Angeles. Here, when people have a frozen look on their face, I find out it's botox."

"It is so warm and beautiful. Back home it was freezing - it was five degrees below Congress' approval rating."

"Shaun White on the show. What an amazing athlete. I watched him do a double McTwist 1260. The only other people to do a double McTwist 1260 was last week, the White House, on health care."

"How about that amazing, closing ceremony. It was beautiful. The minute I saw that giant moose, I remembered I hadn't cooked anything for the kids' dinner."

"I've been really busy. I picked a gig in Las Vegas at the Legends Show, playing Tina Fey."

    MY FAVORITE:

"The truth is I am glad I am not vice president. I would not know what to do with all that free time."

If we can keep her out of Washington, and in front of the TV (like a talk show), then I could definitely learn to enjoy Sarah Palin.
