    CNN PRODUCER NOTE     dinalee captured some great photographs of the protests at UC Berkeley on March 4. The protests against budget cuts, tuition increases and teacher layoffs, were part of a national movement around the country.

    On Thursday March 4th 2010 students, teachers and parents held a one day strike to "defend public education for our children and for all future generations." A picket was held at Sather Gate at the University of California, Berkeley and a rally and march was held afterwards. Thousands of students walked out of classes, everywhere in the Bay Area. The pics are of the picket at Sather Gate at UC Berkeley, and the three mile march to Oakland's City Hall.

    The picket, rally and march was very "high energy", and it consisted of students of all ages, and ethnicities.
