    Fear and Loathing in America

My bias toward Republicans has been well noticed by many of you, especially Republicans (or Independents with the same identical views, but unwilling to call yourself Republican). I haven't always been so hateful of the tightie righties. My father is a retired colonel and a life long Republican. We have had many debates over the years and many of them he won. There was a time when the Republican Party was not so...how do I put it? Obnoxiously dangerous to society! There was a time when they actually talked about ideas and not just red meat attacks, fantasy accusations, inciting panic in the stupid, etc. I certainly didn't agree with everything Reagan stood for, but this is not the same Republican Party anymore. Reagan did some good in my book, but he also did many things bad in my opinion, but none the less he did help us back on our feet despite my opinion of his methods and I appreciate him for that.

Right now, whether you like it or not, Obama is our President and regardless of your FOX brainwashing, he is desperately trying to help the country. His agenda has never included lying to the country about WMD just to go to war while already fighting a war elsewhere. He hasn't campaigned around the country talking about replacing your lowly factory job with some fantasy job of the 21st century. He isn't asking us all to go into to debt twice, so we could pass two tax cuts for the wealthy. Republicans HATE helping the regular guy. Historically speaking they fought against Minimum Wage, SSI, MediCare, Unemployment Benefits, etc. Throughout our short history they have branded everything designed to help regular people as Socialist. This name calling isn't anything new. You may not know what socialist really means, but these blanket accusations of everything Obama is trying to do to HELP YOU are drowning out the reality of the change we all need and expect. We all get so fixated on the name calling games, that we missed the boat. When you're rich enough to fiscally hibernate for several years, it's easy to have an agenda that solely revolves around making Obama look worse than Bush by creating a disaster worse than Bush. Do you people really want to see things get worse? Why are so many of you only finding joy when bad news comes? So you can stick it to the socialists lefties on the blog while you lose your savings? So you can feel better about the complete and utter failure of our free market system that was deregulated to death by Republicans?

The reason I'm hateful is the dangerous game the Republicans are playing to score political points. They have no regard for our well being. They have shown that they are hell bent on Obstructionism by the fact that they oppose their own agenda and therefore oppose our Recovery! Many Democrats like myself are furious with all the compromising the Democrats have made with these political Kamikazes. The Republicans have blocked EVERYTHING from Jobs Bills to Stimulus to Unemployment Extensions to Health Care to COBRA Extensions to Non-Military Budget Freezes??? The last one is the core, fundamental belief of the GOP and they can't play nice with that one either? These spoiled rich children have shown us and told us that if they can't run the show, no one will. Is that what YOU really want in a crisis? We have 3 years left to go, do you really want to keep watching this circus or do you want to get something done? Do you think this behavior is justified, yet you EXPECT Obama to help you at the same time?

The Tea Party movement is supposed to be about a frustration with the way government is (not) working. Many Tea Baggers have said that they aren't all Republicans and this is true. You don't have to be of any specific political alignment to be frustrated by the government. When a crisis like this happens, it's no wonder that everyone is a little upset with the way things are run. Bush brought the dysfunction to our attention with the Great Recession, but the system was broken before he ruined everything and it's still broken now. We have had 3 domestic terrorists kill innocent people and themselves (in 2 cases) because of personal situations gone bad and they blamed the government for their misfortune. One guy thought his guns were going to be taken so he killed 3 police officers. Where did he get that idea? Obama never talked about gun control, but Beck and Limblaugh have, relentlessly. One guy flew his plane into an IRS building because of his anti-tax agenda. Who has been fueling that fire? A GOP Senator praised this guy. The most recent guy tried to storm the Pentagon and had a long list of rants against the government including Bush. Here's an example of what the Tea Baggers have been saying all along. It's not just Republicans, but it is all about anti-government.

I'm sorry, but the Republican Party has been spewing this anti-government agenda for some time. They underfunded already underfunded programs which can only result in disaster, dysfunction, ineptitude, etc. So after Katrina, the people hated an underfunded FEMA. After underfunding INS the building industry was overrun by illegal border jumpers and now that these guys are unemployed, they joined the Mexican Drug Cartels that have taken over everything on both sides of the Rio Grande. The Republicans call this smaller government, but it's a two pronged idea. Piss the people off at government programs and suck the government dry of any cash they can so they can give it to rich people. This compels people to think that only a privatized free market can solve all of our problems, but we are bearing witness to the failure of an unregulated "free" market dominated by industries that operate free of anti-trust laws that the rest of our businesses have to obey for good reason.

If you believe you live in Never Never Land and you'll never have to brush your teeth or do your homework. If you think responsibility is a word to describe the next guy who cleans up your mess, then you're part of the problem. The Republicans need to understand that you don't yell BOMB on a plane, you don't yell FIRE in a theater, but they think it's OK to spread fear, panic, and invent more crisis than what exists at an historic economic low point when the people are completely destitute? Normal folks can lose their minds when backed into a corner and react in deadly ways. We have real crises that require help that our free market simply won't give, but inciting panic in the people is what the Republicans think is the right thing to do NOW??? Sometimes the government has to step in when the free market refuses to. The free market is capable of help with 12% GDP growth in one year, but it isn't. So what's left? You may think the GOP games are a great idea and you may enjoy the Reality Show our nation has become, but if you wonder why I'm so harsh about the things I have to say to you. Why don't you think about what you said to deserve it. I cannot tolerate self-destructive stupidity during a crisis, but I do enjoy an intelligent exchange of ideas.
