Americans Use Less Electricity So Utilities Want Rate Hikes? What's Wrong With This Picture?
Utilities claim that because Americans are using less electricity, they need a rate hike. Here in NY State, National Grid is asking for a 20% hike on electricity.
Let me get this straight:
We save money by using less, saving more, replacing appliance and light bulbs with the energy efficient kind, at our expense and utilities feel THEY deserve the savings by hiking rates?
Something's wrong with this picture. President Obama was out promoting his "Cash for Caulkers" program the other day. He said Americans can save by making their homes more energy efficient. Why?
So we can again give the savings to another greedy group of corporations that just feel like taking more and more from us? What are we- the Proverbial "cash cow" for these Corporations?
Americans have had enough. Government must deny these rate hikes.
