Manifest Equality - Proposition 8 in California
Manifest Equality is a temporary art exhibit in Hollywood which includes art renderings by street artists Robbie Conal, Swoon and Shepard Fairey, and illustrative painters Barry McGee, Gary Baseman and Elizabeth McGrath.
The theme of the exhibit is Justice, Equality and Love, spotlighting the Civil Rights issues of Proposition 8 in California, prohibiting same sex marriages
Yosi Sergant, Jennifer Gross and Apple Via organized the exhibit. Yosi Sergant recently resigned his position as communications director of the National Endowment for the Arts in Washington, DC this past fall. Yosi now resides here in LA.
Before entering the gallery, there is a large heart-shaped string installation and a 100-foot-long collaborative mural of Lady Justice by graffiti artists El Mac, Retna and Kofie.
