Mena (AR) High School Students Help to Rebuild Town
On April 9, 2009, Mena Arkansas was almost wiped off the map by a devastating F3 tornado. Most of the homes were damaged, businesses and the middle school were destroyed, the economic base was severely empacted, and a large number of long-time residents moved away.
Mena High School students are fighting back against the destruction. Two of their four EAST projects deal with rebuilding the middle school to be safer and stronger, and raising money to help people afford new rooves. Watch this video and see their amazing story.
The complete interview with the Mena High School EAST kids appears on Youtube at this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuA0qwQDpmg
