    Lost Ep7-Dr. Linus

Last night on the 7th episode of Lost the Final Season we followed Benjamin Linus, or Dr. Linus as he's called in the sideways flash.

In the sideway flash the irony continues as Dr. Linus lovingly cares for his father changing his oxygen tank. On the island Ben murdered his father using gas. Dr. Linus also sacrifices his chance to grab power for the good of his best student...Alex Rousseau. The same Alex Rousseau he raised on the island as his daughter and allowed to be murdered so he could have power.

On the island Miles reveals to Ilana that it was Ben, and not Flocke, who killed Jacob. This infuriates Ilana, so she shackles Ben and forces him to dig his own grave. While he's digging, Flocke frees Ben and tells him to come join his camp. Flocke also plants a rifle betting that Ben will use it to kill Ilana. Ben takes off running, and Ilana chases him. Ben grabs the rifle surprising Ilana. This was one of the more powerful scenes in the history of Lost. It's Benjamin Linus at the crossroads. Hi's standing with a rifle pointed at a defenseless Ilana. Instead of continuing in his murderous, scumbag ways, Ben apologizes and explains the pain he felt and why he killed Jacob. Ilana forgives Ben, so instead of joining Flocke and the "dark side", Ben returns to camp with Ilana.

The writers did a good job of developing the characters in this episode. On a side note...Mario Van Pebbles directed this episode.
