"The Bob Barker Building".. PETA Breaking Ground.
Television Legend Bob Barker has generously donated 2.5 million dollars to purchase and renovate a building for PETA's (People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals) future Los Angeles home. A long time advocate for the safety and rights of animals, Bob Barker praised Ingrid E. Newirk, President of PETA, for her excellent work in helping animals. Mr. Barker expressed his admiration and respect for PETA and their staff. He states, "they are the most effective and the most productive of all animal welfare groups in the world." While at the dedication ceremony, Mr. Barker's generosity continued. When PETA reaches their next 2 million, he will, in turn, match that amount... making his total contribution up to 4.5 million dollars. PETA's new office building will bring more than 100 jobs to downtown LA. It will support the growth of PETA's media, marketing, youth outreach, and campaign
department.
