Marrakech hotels riads ? Hotel Riad Al Moussika a real travel experience!

In a day when high end hotels more and more follow the "luxury brand" formula, hotel Riyad Al Moussika just stands out. Perfectly located quite literally in the center of the activity, sights and sites that are Marrakech, Al Moussika provides a beautiful, peaceful, welcoming atmosphere with incredible attention to detail - from the most friendly and competent staff for whom almost nothing was too much to ask to the astonishingly high quality traditional riyad building equal to any seen in Marrakech. Breakfast and lunch are included in the room rate. Normally we are not interested in lunch, but given the central location of the riyad in this city, it's really nice to come back from all the noise and bustle to have a peaceful hour or two over a wonderful midday meal. With notice, the chef will prepare dinner for you as well. The excellent quality ingredients (many of the products come directly from te riyad's farm several kilometers from town, including the indescribably good marmalade and honey) that form the most sophisticated European and Morrocan cuisines. The website cannot convey the wonderful warm feeling of secluded privilege in the midst of this wild and animated city. Our room - the green suite shown on their website - was a museum-quality restoration of this traditional riyad room, with an outdoor sitting loggia and private roof garden. Magic! The public rooms are just as nice: a lovely salon, a library well stocked with English and French books and CDs of classical, jazz and great American music, and a second sitting room with a fine collections of movies and - if you are a pianist - a beautiful 1930s Pleyel piano from Paris. Nothing here will disappoint you, and better still, in this age of "lifestyles" marketing where one city or country seems to be more and more like the next, you will feel you've had a travel experience of the highest quality that is unique to Marrakech - the type one reads about in old travel books but rarely can find today. Marrakech is changing very quickly (more outside the medina than inside) and one hopes hotel Riad Al Moussika can keep operating at the high level it did on our visit. This seems to be the Hassan's (the Manager) and the staff's passion, and if it can be done, they will do it.
