    More from AW2010

    Washington DC---Stevie Wonder In Town

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     AW2010 told me, Wonder had just received his award. He gave some very stirring words to the audience about how all of their lives can make a difference--regardless of their disability. As he closed, he said that he'd play us a song. The audience erupted with cheers and applause.'
    - hhanks, CNN iReport producer

Stevie Wonder was an award recipient at the American Association of People with Disabilities 15th Anniversary Leadership Gala.

He accepted AAPD's "Image Award," which recognizes an entertainer for their personal example as to how people with disabilities are perceived in society.

The event was held in Washington, DC, at the Ronald Reagan Building on March 10, 2010.  The atrium was packed, and the dinner was delicious!

Stevie shared some inspiring words, gave glory to God for his life and talents, and even shared a song.  We all hummed & clapped to a Stevie Wonder favorite--"You Are the Sunshine of My Life."

The highlight of the evening for me--shaking his hand.
