Arguing with an Idiot
Glenn Beck..
I type his name and a desire rises up inside me to give him something to really cry about. Where was Mr. Beck during the entire Bush administration? To hear him talk about it, he was outspoken against G.W. Bush the whole time! Really? I don't recall the kind of dissent being directed at Obama coming from Beck when Bush was in office. Point of fact, I don't recall anyone at Fox News really ever saying anything bad about Bush, other than to say it's unAmerican to talk bad about the President, no matter what he does, cuz he's the President of the best country in the whole wide world, golly gosh! I don't remember anyone at Fox saying anything when Mr. Bush passed the USA PATRIOT ACT. That law was passed without ANYONE reading it. Oh, but wait, we were attacked by terrorists! How convenient. There's no time to read the law! Pass it anyway, because we're going to all die if we don't! People in fighting from caves with no airforce or navy are going to attack us any minute!
Here in the real world there are more pressing problems facing us, like how the majority of Americans can't afford to go see a doctor, or even a dentist. Still, Glenn Beck rails on about healthcare reform being rammed, crammed, shoved, and forced down our throats enough to make Freud raise a brow.
What irks me most about Beck are his views of American history. This revision of the way our founding fathers viewed our country by bringing religion into Government. This notion that we were designed to be a Christian nation. The idea of separation of church and state is that no one religion can force its will on the people.
I'm certain our founding fathers would frown upon the way our Government has gone. The idea of Universal Healthcare for all citizens is something I bet they wouldn't be keen on. Just like I'm certain they'd be shocked by universal healthcare for life being given to senators and congress people whether they serve for one term or three.
Glenn Beck and these other sham artists have taken the legit issues people had with Bush and the Republicans and reworded them for Democrats, whether there's any basis for it in reality or not. Sure, the Democrats are pussies, but come on! Watching the news these days, you'd think Obama has been President for the last ten years.
