Weekend Assignment: View from up high

    More from xkater

    Banner Heart Hospital

CNN PRODUCER NOTE     xkater says this weekend assignment (shot March 11) was good for her health and not just because of the climbing upward. 'One of my findings is that the air is cleaner as you go up the floors.'
    - nsaidi, CNN iReport producer

This is one of the busiest hospitals in Mesa, Arizona.

The videos are taken from the top floor, looking down at the brand new Emergency Department and parking structure. Also shown beyond the parking structure is the new wing of the Banner Baywood Medical Center built in the past 2-3 years. On top of the parking structure you can see the Heliport where helicopters bring high priority patients to save their lives. A walkway assures quick access.

Although the two hospitals are separate entities, they are on the same campus, connected and sharing some services.

The two hospitals have hundreds of volunteers working for them, most are senior citizens. I am one of them. In my breaks I use the stairs (from where I also took the videos) to exercise by walking up and down all flights.

The development that took place here in the last few years is amazing indeed. BHH made the top 100 on the list of hospitals ranked by patient satisfaction.
