    Passions over health care reform

    More from LeeOates

    Down to the wire

We are getting closer to the vote on Healthcare and the pressure is building.  The advertisements against healthcare are flooding our news sources, and as usual are full of lies and distortions by the Republicans and their cronies and play heavily on fear.  The right-wing IReporters are in full swing attacking anyone who is pro-healthcare.

Now the American people will see where their representatives actually stand.  Will they reveal that they are bought and sold by the corporations, or will they represent their constituents who desperately need a sane and affordable health care system?  The Senators and Representatives are at a crucial crossroads that will determine the future of America and the times call for strong, ethical leadership.  Will they be afraid of standing up to their backroom bosses, for fear of getting their money sources cut off?  Will they be able to consider the needs of the Nation first.  Will they be American Heros and be remembered in the future for their courage, or just be another footnote on the evils of corruption and Greed.

I am convinced that if they vote this bill in, the American People, by and large will thank them in the next voting round by putting them back in office.  The Bill is not perfect (thanks to those who opposed any solutions to our Medical care crisis), but it is a start.  Trust in the good sense of the majority of Americans, and not the right-wing fringe group.
