Retail Sales Rise - Good News or Just a Case of Gas?
The retails sales report for February suggested that the country is on the mend. Americans need reason to feel good when so much news isn't these days. But are these numbers accurate? When you look at the price of gas and how it's risen over the last year, maybe the rise in retail sales isn't all that it seems.
Gas prices are rising not on demand but on mostly speculation and investors driving up the futures market as they did when gas prices went up before. When will Washington, DC do something about this unregulated practice that costs Americans billions more than we need to pay at the pump?
