How Do You KNOW You're Loved? Ask Casey.
How do you know when you are loved? Really loved?
Last year, kindergarten teacher Casey Wolf got the bad news: she had a rare muscle cancer. Ahead of her lay months of surgery and chemotherapy. Work for the Rogers School System was out of the question. Yes, her insurance would pay for part of her treatments, but the remainder of the medical and everyday bills could well push her into bankrupcy.
Not! As soon as Casey announced she had cancer, she also discovered she had more friends than she had ever dreamed of. Forty people joined together to form Casey's Cancer Posse. They organized meal relays, fundraising events, Cancer Society walks.
Casey's Cancer Posse also organized the gigantic community benefit dinner and silent auction happening tonight at Kirksey Middle School in Rogers, AR. By the time the event closed it doors Friday night, 500 people had paid $10 each ($5 for children) to hug Casey, eat a meal donated by several local restaurants and bid on over 160 silent auction items, some of which were extravagantly expensive like autographed sports memorabelia, spa visits, tool sets.
Casey's Cancer Posse restored me faith in humanity...wow.
