Bet El, Israel

Sound-off |
When will we get justice?
Recently, Israel announced it's intention to build more homes in a religious neighborhood in it's own capital city of Jerusalem. This announcement was met with a tremendous amount of scrutiny for the Israeli government. I am a Jewish Israeli who also holds American citizenship living on a "settlement" in Bet El near Jerusalem and the one thing I keep seeing here in Israel is that there is a tremendous amount of criticism toward us for building in our own neighborhoods while our Arab neighbors continue to build illegally and terrorize innocent civilians.
Just this morning we had a father and his 9 month old son attacked by an arab with a molotav cocktail for simply driving down their own Jewish roads....
When the VP of the US was in town criticizing our Prime Minister, a kassam rocket was fired at a kibbutz here and the silence was audible. Not a peep from the VP. Where is the justice here? It seems to me that the only justice the US administration is interested in is one that furthers it's own agenda.
Where is the crime in building in your own neighborhood? What if someone told you you were not allowed to build in New York or Cinncinati? Would you stand for it?
There are thousands of illegal arab buildings in Israel and noone from the states had comments about it.....
What the American people don't seem to understand it that the PA doesn't want it's own state. The minute they have sovereignty, they have to be responsible for their own people and can no longer commit acts of terror. This is why they sabotage all peace efforts.
If a country truly wanted peace, they would stop using every little excuse to walk away from the tables and stop making unreasonable demands. They would not hold a young soldier hostage for years and demand hundreds of terrorists freed for his return.
It is not THEY who are terrified to wander into OUR territory... It is not THEY who fear getting on a bus because of the Jews who may suicide bomb THEM... it is not THEY who have to have alarms in their homes because of terror attacks that are perpetrated against them. If they truly wanted peace we would not have to have armed escorts out of their territory if we accidentally enter.
Ms. Clinton, if you are going to open your mouth about what is going on in Israel, the least you could do is to be fair and objective.
VP Biden, you should have said something on behalf of the innocent Israelis who are constantly being attacked by kassams.
President Obama... If you can't send competent people who try to understand both sides of the issue, then mind your own business....
