"Green Zone" - Democracy is Messy - WMD Lies In Iraq

This politically charged war thriller is set in 2003 Iraq. Matt Damon is Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller, whose team of inspectors are looking for Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. The first three sites they visit come up empty. It's at this point that Miller begins to doubt the sources of "Intel" that are given to him. Is "Magellan" real, and can he be trusted? Or is there a cover - up or conspiracy at work - with the Pentagon, CIA, and possibly the Bush Administration?

This Movie, directed by Paul Greengrass (Borne Identity), could raise yet another political debate in this country. Was the war in Iraq justified - and was the United States notified by tipsters in Jordan - before the invasion began - that the WMD's did not exist?

Although the film is "inspired" by true events, there is a lot of fiction here. For example, the General Al-Rawi is portrayed as the "Jack of Clubs" in the infamous deck of 52 cards that were handed out to US troops, but he in fact never existed (At least in the name used here).

But, there are a lot of truths also - and history has now proven the facts: Iraq no longer had weapons of mass destruction at the time of the US led invasion. Iraq had nothing to do with the events of 9/11.

Were our leaders involved with deception in regards to what was told to the American People - Up to, and including, lies and a cover up?
