    Passions over health care reform

    MY IDEAS FOR HELATHCARE REFORM

There are many who abuse the system.  AND I DO AGREE we need some form of healthcare for those who need it.  But I do think that this is one bill that will lead us down the path to National Bankruptcy.  They need to scrap this bill and put together responsible healthcare reform.  Everyone wants the insurance companies to give out high risk polices that will bankrupt those companies.  There are so many different things that could be done that would cost much less than this bill would burden the US.  We keep focusing on those EVIL insurance companies, but we also at the same time want to create jobs.  Well if this bill passes in it's current form there will be a lot of insurance agencies out of work too.  That will raise the job loss rate in of itself.  It will also force companies, who offer good insurance to their employees, who will drop those greater benefits and pay for the lesser one offered by the Public Option.

There are also who claim that the Canadian Healthcare plan is just not as bad as people are making it out to be.   The truth is that many Canadians, who can afford to do so, come to the US to get healthcare because many procedures are either turned down or prolonged to the point their conditions become worse.  Some have to wait for months to get vital operations and such.   They come here to get those operations without the long waiting periods.

We need to hit all aspects of healthcare.  Even to the providers and Hospital costs.  There is so much you could cut cost on in hospitals and private practices it would make your head spin.  My idea on this is to do what the UAW (United Auto Workers) have done.  To put down in a book prices that can be charged for certain work on a patient, as the UAW has on work done on cars.  "There are manuals that give hour rates of how long it will take to repair a certain problem on a vehicle." >(a quote from the link below).   If you look up what putting in a new transmission into your 2010 Ford F150 you will see how much time that particular work takes to do and how much they can charge you.  Also, an attending physician should be able to offer special prices to promote competition.

Law suits have gotten so out of control.  Those high costs for malpractice insurance gets passed onto the consumers.  I think there should be caps on what a person can receive for a botched up job by a mistake made by a doctor. If the law suit be declared by a judge as being just a scam to get money then there ought to be a fine placed upon the accuser, as well as making them paying for all court costs.  I also think that the congress ought to look into what can be charged for certain operations and procedures.

Here is another item to think about when it comes to healthcare:   Bill O'Reilly said of the Obamacare Max Baucus Bill that 45% Of Doctors Would Consider Quitting If Congress Passes Health Care Overhaul.

This documentary takes a very honest, much needed look at the state of nursing in America. By interviewing doctors, hospital administrators, union representatives, members of the public and nurses

What will it be like at hospitals when they get flooded beyond what they already do?  I still think the House and Senate needs to kill this bill and get right down to the crux of this issue instead of trying to create another mess.  True healthcare reform will only come when both sides of the isle sit down and say, "what can we all agree on when it comes to healthcare?"  Then put those ideas in a bill and pass that.  They all really ought to take several tours of Hospitals in their home states and ask doctors and patients what the problems are.  We the people have the answers, if given a chance, there is nothing that we can't do; SO LISTEN TO US PLEASE!!!

There are many things that need to be dealt with when it comes to healthcare.  This I know because I worked in Kansas for 2 years as Residential Specialist in a Group Home Healthcare setting.  2 Years as a Vocational Specialist (Job Coaching for persons with MR, MI, and with DS).  And lastly, in Iowa, I worked in the Social Services Department as a Program Manager for 8 years in a PMI and RCF facility for those with special needs.  In those jobs I worked countless hours alongside doctors and nurses - so I know the ins and outs when it comes to this issue.
